This April 2016 wedding had more moving parts than any in recent memory. We are breaking from the norm and only showing you a few key decor and styling images.
Just a few minutes outside of Sedona, hidden away between rocky cliffs and rolling hills, is a secluded, shady paradise that lies along Oak Creek. Accessible only by navigating a steep, bumpy, winding dirt road, it was quite the challenge to bus over 200 guests to the wedding, much less maneuver the caravan of huge trucks, equipment and army of professionals we recruited to pull this off. Although Show Stoppers styled and produced the event, luckily, we were able to secure the capable design talents and organization skills of Laura Marolakos, Heart of Sedona Weddings , and Deb Beggs, Classic Tents And Events. Special kudos to our incredible photographers and friends, Sierra Blanco Photography.
A lovely secluded spot on the grounds was chosen for the ceremony. Everyone agreed that having babbling Oak Creek visible behind the ceremonial wedding arbor would be ideal. Two huge, old-growth Cottonwoods at the bend of the creek were perfect and provided a spectacular setting. After the ceremony, guests simply walked over to the cocktail area and enjoyed the celebration, while the couple took photos.
We used our popular wrought iron gazebo for the ceremony and decorated it with magnolia, roses, delphinium, hydrangea, lilies, stock, orchids and hand-made ribbon flowers. The color palette for the wedding was variations of navy blue, ivory and gold. Peacock feathers were requested as a fun detail.
The chair markers were on the first two rows on each side of the aisle.
A charming wooden aviary was perfect for gift and congratulatory cards.
The outdoor cocktail hour had a lounge area, complete with gorgeous flowers on the credenzas.
Shell and sea-life garlands were attached to rustic wrought iron obelisks and placed on seafood stations.
Assorted florals were used on seat assignment tables, bars, powder rooms, cocktail tables, VIP guest rooms and water stations.
The bridal bouquet incorporated iris, parrot tulips, lilies, wax flower, lisianthus and hyacinth.
The handle had peacock feather details.
The cake was a vision. Sedona Cake Couture designed a masterpiece. Show Stoppers’ hand-made garland was the perfect touch with scattered white orchids on the surface of the table and on the floor.
Just look at this unbelievable tent! We attached it to a brand new party barn (left) just recently constructed on the property. The barn doors were kept shut during the dinner. We even had a decoy dance floor to keep a surprise yet to come. After dinner, the barn doors were rolled back to reveal a pulsating night club, much to the delight of the surprised guests.
We wanted a spacious area where guests could move about easily. It was decided that a wall-to-wall floor be constructed then covered with new gold carpet to finish the look. Huge crystal chandeliers were stunning in the elegant space. As guests walked into the tent, the cake was front and center. It was stunning to say the least.
Blue and white patterned linens from La Tavola were gorgeous with the gold-washed Tuscan chairs. Monogramed fleece blankets were used as party favors for guests to use if they got chilly during the evening.
Show Stoppers had custom luminaries in three sizes made with beeswax to continue the gold theme.
VIPs sat in 6 white leather booths all along one wall of the tent.
During dinner, the barn doors were kept shut, ready for the big “party barn” reveal.
Lanterns were used randomly inside and outside the barn.
This wedding was an evening to remember!
